Every question has an answer, and every problem has a solution. However, it can be challenging for individuals to grasp different perspectives. To overcome this, it is crucial to develop insight, empathy, and effective communication skills. By starting with a clear vision of the desired outcome, we can ensure honesty and stay focused on resolving the initial challenge.
From an early age, I recognized that design transcends traditional boundaries and encompasses a wide range of disciplines. Growing up in a family that embraced resourcefulness, I witnessed firsthand the power of design thinking in everyday situations. I still remember my mother ingeniously using pantyhose to operate the windshield wipers during a rainstorm while picking me up from school—a creative problem-solving approach that left a lasting impression.
In high school, I discovered my passion for drafting, science, and art. Combining these interests, I pursued architectural studies at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. However, during a project presentation in one of my classes, I had an epiphany when exploring graphic design. Instantly captivated, I made the decision to switch my major to Visual Communications and earned a BFA degree.
My skill set is a unique fusion of diverse experiences, blending my education in architecture, industrial design, visual communications, and graphic design with my professional expertise in user experience design, design thinking, user-centric thinking, entrepreneurship/ROI, and marketing.
