In my role, I provide strategic leadership by defining the UI/UX vision, strategy, and roadmap in alignment with the company's goals. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, I integrate UI/UX efforts into the product development process. As a team leader, I mentor and guide UI/UX designers, researchers, and professionals, ensuring consistent high-quality design output. I champion user-centered design through research, usability testing, and analysis, creating personas, user journeys, wireframes, and interactive prototypes. I drive the creation of design systems for a cohesive visual language and work closely with product teams to translate business requirements into engaging user experiences. I identify opportunities for innovation, communicate design strategies to stakeholders, and collaborate with QA teams to ensure accurate implementation of design specifications, guaranteeing the intended user experience in the final product.
My team:
My amazing team comprises individuals from diverse backgrounds and skill sets, including those underutilized in their previous roles. I've received rave reviews from my team, and testimonials on my LinkedIn page provide additional insights. During my tenure at SNHU, I promoted several team members and facilitated the transition of a lead designer into management. I facilitated upskilling initiatives for every team member and established a clear career ladder, fostering open and honest conversations about roles and responsibilities.
Mentorship:
SNHU, being primarily an academic institution, lacked experience in product development methodologies and product design. They recruited me to mentor various departments and individuals, designing upskilling programs to enhance workforce efficiency. I conducted multiple workshops, transformed into learning modules, both online and in-person across the dispersed U.S. workforce. I mentored numerous product managers, researchers, product designers, and managers, reassessing their processes. Senior management entrusted me with breaking down silos and creating a more cohesive project experience for the future.
