Overview:
The goal of our campground solution platform is to strategically expand and modernize the existing system, enhancing user experience while integrating innovative features to meet the evolving needs of the market. By improving system performance and broadening the product line, we aimed to create a more comprehensive and user-friendly platform. This involved assessing the current system to identify gaps, developing a UX roadmap, and ensuring a seamless integration of new capabilities. The platform is designed to cater to a wide range of users, including campground staff, administrators, campers, and event specialists, offering tailored solutions that simplify campground management and elevate the overall experience.
Objective:
To strategically expand the product line and modernize the existing platform, enhancing its capabilities and user experience while integrating new features to meet evolving market demands and improve overall system performance.
Achievements:
I began by assessing the current platform to identify gaps and areas for improvement. This led to the creation of a UX roadmap for integrating and streamlining the platform systems. I developed a strong business case to support the necessary system conversion and established a process for collecting and leveraging customer feedback to drive meaningful updates. Collaborating closely with Customer Relationship Managers, I worked to broaden the product line. I facilitated initial design thinking sessions with development, product management, marketing, and training teams, while mentoring the UX team to eventually take over these sessions. My role also included leading the team through creative reviews, milestone-focused sessions, and hands-on design work during design jams. Additionally, I oversaw user testing and research with the UX team, guiding them towards independent management of these processes. I provided quarterly updates to executive stakeholders and board members, developed a hand-off process to ensure a smooth transition, and monitored progress throughout the development lifecycle. I also managed the process for handling maintenance requests from developers.
Outcome:
The project resulted in the successful development of multiple platforms tailored for various user types, including State Administrators, Campground Employees, Point of Purchase Employees, Campers, Event Specialists, and Law Enforcement Officials.
